Hello I'm Vampireshiver and I love to cosplay. On this blog I hope to share my love of cosplaying by posting process diaries on each costume or piece of clothing that I make. I'm starting this blog because it was require for one of the subjects I'm studying and hope to continue it after I've gotten my marks back. At first I will be posting everyday for the next two weeks and then I will hopefully post every time I make a new costume.

I first got into cosplaying because I became a member of a manga club at my old school. I loved reading manga but I had no idea that there was such a large community out there! The leader of my club told us all about the convention Supanova and explained all about cosplay. I was hooked after this. I went to that years convention with a costume I borrowed from my friend I had no wig and looking back I really don't like how it turned out. ^^'

My first ever (proper) cosplay was TK from Angel Beats and was basically a closet cosplay because at first I had no knowledge on how to sew. I managed to find a similar looking tacket from the Salvos store and glued a brown ribbon to the hem and collar (and with craft glue no less so it was all stiff). I then took off the buttons and changed them so the looked more accurate. I cut up an cheap wig from the dollar store so that it was the right length and made a bandanna from scrap cloth my friend found at school. I also found dollar store hand cuffs and tied them on a piece of string. Then I wore a big, white men's shirt, my mum's work pants and a pair of cheap shoes from K-mart and it was complete.

After this I've become obsessed with collecting wigs, fabrics and cheap make up. Since I've become a cosplayer I have become a hoarder and I think my mum finds it a little scary. :)
